Sixty Seconds with Shannon Talty
Why did you decide to become a lawyer?
To have the opportunity to help others. I also enjoy a challenging problem to work through and find a resolution to.
If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be?
Something creative. Maybe an artist where I could travel the world to fuel my inspiration
What brings you the most joy in your job?
Our clients and achieving the best outcome for them, whether that be something simple like setting up a new trust for their investment or something complex like unravelling a family business so that each family member can take their own separate path.
What’s the best advice you could give your clients?
Your advisors, whether that be legal, accounting or financial, are in your corner and should work collaboratively to achieve your goals.
What are the downfalls of being a lawyer?
The stress and waking up at 3am when I remember something I need to do.
If you could invite three people for dinner, dead or alive who would they be and why?
Sir David Attenborough, Princess Diana and Adam and Eve (I know this is 4 people, but no one would know who Adam is without Eve and vice versa) to talk about their life, fascinating stories and knowledge of the world.
