Sixty Seconds with Emily Jobling
How long have you worked at Fox and Thomas and what does your job entail? I started with the team at the beginning of 2024 and have been assisting the family law team with parenting matters, property matters and divorce.
If you weren’t at Fox and Thomas, what would you be doing? Growing up I always thought I would be a farmer, like Dad.
What’s the best advice you could give your clients? Take a deep breath and count to 10 before you respond (especially to a text message).
What are the downfalls of being a lawyer? Notoriously, no one trusts lawyers.
What brings you the most joy in your job? The clients. Despite the assumption above, there is a great level of trust in the lawyer and client relationship. Working with clients throughout the duration of a matter, you experience the highs and lows with them.
If you could invite three people for dinner, dead or alive who would they be and why? Winston Churchill, Sir David Attenborough and Penny McKinlay.
What is something that people might not know about you? I love to cook but think there is nothing better than a Sunday roast.
