Nick is a Principal at Fox and Thomas, leading its Brisbane office and renewable energy offering. He is passionate about building long term relationships with clients and is the trusted advisor for many families and businesses across rural and regional Australia.
Nick specialises in agribusiness advisory, renewable energy, carbon projects, property and water matters. He also has experience advising clients on planning and environment matters, statutory land valuation disputes, transaction due diligence and leasing.
Nick’s strong background in major project work, combined with deep sector knowledge, allows him to provide practical, commercially focused advice on complex rural transactions and infrastructure projects. He brings close to a decade of experience advising farmers and graziers at leading agribusiness law firms in Queensland.
Nick has a keen interest in the agribusiness sector and is the immediate past president of the Young Agribusiness Rural Network (YARN) Committee.

Why did you decide to become a lawyer?
I love the challenges it brings. No two matters or clients are the same.
How long have you worked at Fox and Thomas and what does your job entail?
I started with Fox and Thomas in July 2025 and focus predominantly on renewable energy, carbon and rural and commercial property.
If you weren’t at Fox and Thomas, what would you be doing?
Something to do with agribusiness, probably a farmer.
What’s the best advice you could give your clients?
Engage with your professional advisors early.
What are the downfalls of being a lawyer?There are not enough hours in the day.
What brings you the most joy in your job?
Navigating complex issues with clients to achieve an outcome that will benefit them generationally.

Sir David Attenborough, Charles Darwin and Winston Churchill.
What is something that people might not know about you?I can play the bagpipes and have been pre-booked by a number of people to play at their funerals!
